We offer a bunch of great classes here at String Bead. Let our experienced staff teach you the in's and out's of beading. With classes ranging from beginning to advanced beading there's something here for everyone! Our classes are a fun way to learn different beading skills and meet some really great people. Beginning Beading -- $20.00 Materials included
Start from the top, or shall we say start with the tools! We cover all the do's and don'ts in beading and set you on the right path to becoming a professional beader! Walk away with a bracelet, a corded necklace, and a pair of earrings all made by you!

Beginning Wire -- $20.00 Materials included
Loops, links, wire, and more loops! By the end of your wire bracelet, and a pair of earrings to match, links will be second nature. Plus learn how to finish that bracelet by making your own clasp! And then, after all that, if there is still time left, we will make the illusive dragonfly charm!

Pearl Knotting -- $20.00 Materials included
Knotting isn't just for the pearls anymore. Learn how and why knotting is still used today and knot just in the traditional fashion. We'll show you the different techniques and tools you'll need to finish your project. This is another good way of getting rid of “orphan” beads. Make the very popular Bead Wrap.

New ways to finish you necklaces, and new findings are always being created! This class is great for learning how to use all those beads you are having a hard time designing jewelry with. Find out how to incorporate them into a necklace that fits your style.

Combine textures, shapes, and colors in a collage of beads. Big too little you can make this cluster as fancy or as casual as you want it to be.

Crazy about wire? So is the teacher! You will learn about wire, how to bend it, shape it, snip it, pound it, texture it, harden it. Learn much more than you probably want to know about wire!

Free-Form Peyote -- $20.00 Materials not included
Fun, easy, and you don't have to worry about making mistakes! It's all about going with flow. You will want to bring varying sizes and shapes of beads, along with some seed beads for the base, your choice in how big or small.

Wire-Wrapped Pendant -- $45.00 Materials not included
Beginning Wire Prerequisite - Intermediate Wire is suggested.
Don't know what to do with that rock you tumbled? Do you have a cut stone with no hole? This class will teach you how to cage that stone and give it a unique and finished look. Janette is a wonderful teacher that sends everyone home with a masterpiece.

Intro. To Polymer Clay -- $20.00 Materials not included
Learn the basics to polymer clay. Come see how far you can go with this seemingly basic medium. We'll show you the tricks of the trade we know, to get you ready for Christi Friesen's classes (coming in the spring)!

Paper beads are fast, fun and light weight to wear! With countless possibilities of techniques, finishes, colors and shapes paper is never boring! We will be exploring a host of different finishes and techniques, including matte, glass, faux lampwork (using a heat embossing too), All skill levels welcome!

Learn Peyote bead work: How to start and work even and odd count Peyote. Learn to design and read a Peyote pattern. Make a Peyote sampler while learning what it will take to turn it into a finished bag.

Atalia takes her earrings seriously, and we are glad of this since she makes most of the earrings in the store. She has lots of great ideas and techniques to share with this class. She has five pairs planed and more in the wings if time allows. Great fun! Beginning Wire is a pre-requisite.

Byzantine Chain -- $45.00 Materials not included
This is Janette’s favorite bracelet and it will be your favorite too. Your friends won’t believe you made it yourself. After learning this chain design, you’ll discover you can use it in many other projects too. Class space is limited so sign up early.

Hair dressers and moms this class if for you. Have a bride to be coming down the ramp, be prepared. Loads of ways to do, clips, veils, tiaras, fans, favors, bouquet, etc.

Sculptured Necklace -- $45.00 Materials not included
Beginning - Intermediate wire is a requirement for this class.
Sculpt a wire wrapped neck form and incorporate beads, stones, pearls, etc. for a beautiful necklace. You can even add a cluster to the center to make it even more elegant. Also if you have taken any of Janette’s wire-wrapped pendant classes, this will give you a great way of making a necklace to match!

Wire Cuff -- $20.00 Materials not included
This is another great class for what we call "orphan beads". Not sure what to do with all those leftover odds and ends? Well we do and we can show you how to turn them into a cuff bracelet using different gauges of wire and shaping it to fit your wrist!

Come and explore the many ways you can incorporate chain into your design using multi-chain, broken links, texture and much, much more!

CZ Wire Ring -- $45.00 Materials not included
Wire-Wrapped Prerequisite
Learn how to set a Cubic zircon with no hole into a wire ring using snap settings. Don’t forget sizing rings, find out how to correctly measure the wire. The rings can be made as simple or ornate as desired.

Beaded Ornaments -- $30.00 Materials included
No previous beading skills required. Learn a simple way on how to turn a basic Christmas bulb into a uniquely designed beaded ornament to give as gifts or even to decorate your own personal tree this year.

Jewelry Design -- $35.00 No materials needed
Four hours of revisiting old ideas and learning new ones. This class is split into four sections: Color, Pattern, Theme, and Design. We will see how all of these apply too and affect the design process, how they help with troubleshooting, and how they add depth to your design. Wear old clothes we get messy.

This is a fun new direction for adding color and texture to your project. It’s also great for incorporating into your mixed-media pieces. Very VERSATILE! Another great class for “orphan beads”
