What to expect with our metal workshops:
Make sure to wear closed toed shoes, have a way to tie back long are, and secure any loose clothing when taking any workshop involving torches and heavy tools. We cover all the basics of shop safety and good shop etiquette so you can use the studio after completing your course. Ages 12 to 18 are welcome to join our workshops but will need to have a parent or guardian sign a safety waiver. Children under 12 may be considered with an accompanying adult.
Sawing 101: Silhouettes
One of the most essential skills in metal working is learning how to use a saw. From knowing how to tension to what size blade to use, get practice cutting out your own designs. Turn them into charms, pendants, or earrings!

Silver Smithing 101: Stacker rings
Start your jewelry journey with torch soldering! Learn about all the different levels of solder, tools of the trade, and get practice at the torch. Work in several different metals to get a feel for how they react in the torch and follow up with all the finish work like polishing.

Metal 101: Textures
Explore metals from impression plates to texture hammers and design your own unique components. Turn them into charms, pendants, or links to incorperate into your jewelry.

Silver Smithing: Stone Setting
This all inclusive two day workshop starts from scratch! Learn all the basics from filing, shaping, sawing to multi-step solders to create a setting for a stone of your choosing! Some soldering experience recommended but not required!

Silver Smithing: Fidget Spinners
This all inclusive two day workshop starts from scratch! Learn all the basics from filing, shaping, sawing to multi-step solders to create a textured and layered ring for all to admire!

Silver Smithing: Claw Prongs
Build your torch skills while creating a frame out of various silver wires. Start with choosing a stone and design your pendant while discussing multi-step soldering.

Enameling 101: Earrings
Copper is a wonderful medium to explore with glass enamels! From layering reactive colors to adding copper embellishments, this is a great introductory class to the world of enameling!
